MOVING LIVONIA PUBLIC SCHOOLS FORWARD

An education technology revolution has taken place since the early 1990's when technology first started appearing in our schools. Initially the focus was on learning how to use the tools, but today it is about using the tools to support learning and to help students reach their learning goals. The technology itself is evolving at a rapid rate, which is transforming the way we live and the way we learn. It is our job as educators to equip our students with the skills they need to adapt to the global world in which they live and to prepare them for their future, not ours.

The Michigan Integrated Technology Competencies for Students (MITECS) are adapted from the 2016 International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Standards for Students and focus on learning enhanced by technology, rather than on technology tools.
